Nurture, Play, Discover – The Den Way
Welcome to THE DEN EARLY YEARS Family
At The Den Early Years, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Located on King Street in Aberdeen, our nursery provides a caring and nurturing environment where children aged 0–5 years can learn, play, and grow. We are proud to offer high-quality early years education guided by Scotland’s Quality Improvement Framework, and a warm, family-like atmosphere that makes both children and parents feel at home. We invite you to learn more about us – our story, our team, our approach, and why you should choose The Den Early Years.
Our Story
The Den Early Years was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: create a home away from home for young children. Sangeet Chopra, our owner and a dedicated primary teacher, started the nursery out of her passion for early childhood education and her belief in nurturing each child’s unique potential. Situated on King Street, our nursery will endeavour to become a friendly part of the community. Our ethos is rooted in love, care, and respect – we strive to provide a safe, loving space where little ones feel valued and happy every day.
Our journey is just beginning, and we’re excited to grow from a small group of families into a warm, welcoming community of curious little learners. As we prepare to open our doors, we’re excited to begin building strong partnerships with families, knowing that working together is key to each child’s happiness and success. Our story is just beginning, and we look forward to every child becoming a special part of it.
Our Team
Behind our warm atmosphere is an experienced and passionate team devoted to your child’s wellbeing. Sangeet Chopra, our owner, brings her expertise as a qualified primary school teacher to lead The Den Early Years. Sangeet’s educational background and hands-on teaching experience ensure that our nursery’s programs are both fun and enriching. Her vision sets the tone for a place where children are encouraged to be curious and confident from a young age.
Day-to-day, the nursery is expertly run by our manager, Nicole Milne, who has worked in childcare for many years. Nicole’s extensive experience with early years children shines through in everything we do. She leads our team of caring practitioners with warmth and professionalism, making sure each child receives personalised attention. Nicole is always approachable and ready to support families – whether it’s sharing a milestone your child achieved or answering any questions you might have.
Together, Sangeet, Nicole, and the entire staff form a close-knit team committed to excellence in childcare. Our team includes both qualified staff and those working towards their qualifications. Every member of our team is thoroughly vetted and, most importantly, shares a genuine passion for nurturing and supporting young children. We regularly invest in staff training and development, so our team stays up-to-date with the best practices in early education.

Our Approach
At The Den Early Years, we take a holistic, play-based approach to learning and care. Following Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence, we offer a broad range of fun, age-appropriate activities that support your child’s development in language, maths, creativity, and more. From sensory play for babies to early literacy games for preschoolers, every experience is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help children thrive.
At The Den Early Years, we’re inspired by Realising the Ambition: Being Me, Scotland’s national guidance for early learning. This helps us create warm, engaging spaces where children feel safe, supported, and eager to learn. Our team takes time to build strong relationships with each child, encouraging learning through play, curiosity, and meaningful interactions — all in an environment carefully designed to spark imagination and growth.
At The Den Early Years, care and nurture are at the heart of everything we do. We follow the principles of GIRFEC (Getting It Right for Every Child) — Scotland’s national approach to supporting children’s wellbeing. Every child is recognised as an individual, and we work closely with families and other professionals, when needed, to ensure their needs are fully met. Our approach supports all aspects of wellbeing, helping children feel safe, healthy, confident, and included. By combining a warm, supportive atmosphere with a rich, play-based curriculum, we help children grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally — at their own pace.
