Nurture, Play, Discover – The Den Way
Welcome to THE DEN EARLY YEARS Family
At The Den Early Years, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Located on King Street in Aberdeen, our nursery provides a caring and nurturing environment where children aged 0–5 years can learn, play, and grow. We are proud to offer high-quality early years education guided by Scotland’s Quality Improvement Framework, and a warm, family-like atmosphere that makes both children and parents feel at home. We invite you to learn more about us – our story, our team, our approach, and why you should choose The Den Early Years.
Our Story
The Den Early Years was founded with a simple yet powerful vision: to create a home away from home for young children. Led by a strong management team, our nursery was born from a deep belief in nurturing each child’s unique potential and creating a space where they can thrive.
Now proudly open on King Street, The Den has quickly grown into a warm and welcoming part of the community. Our ethos is rooted in love, care, and respect — and every day, we strive to offer a safe, joyful environment where children feel valued, supported, and inspired to learn through play.
We are already so proud of the strong relationships we’ve built with our families, and we remain committed to working in close partnership to ensure every child thrives. From a small group of curious learners, our community continues to grow — and we are excited for all the little journeys still to come.
At The Den Early Years, your child’s story becomes a special part of ours.
Our Team
At the heart of The Den Early Years is a warm, experienced, and dedicated team who are passionate about providing the very best care for your child.
The nursery is owned and led by Sangeet Chopra, a qualified primary school teacher with a deep-rooted commitment to early childhood education. Sangeet’s background in teaching brings a strong educational focus to our nursery environment, where play and learning go hand in hand. Her vision is to create a setting where children feel safe, confident, and inspired to explore the world around them.
Our team is made up of caring, qualified practitioners — as well as those actively working towards their early years qualifications. Every member of staff is PVG-checked and shares a genuine enthusiasm for nurturing young children. We believe in building strong, supportive relationships with families and pride ourselves on being approachable, attentive, and inclusive.
We’re also committed to ongoing professional development, regularly investing in training to ensure our practice reflects the latest guidance in early years care and education.
At The Den, your child’s wellbeing, happiness, and development are always our top priorities.

Our Approach
At The Den Early Years, we take a holistic, play-based approach to learning and care. Following Scotland’s Curriculum for Excellence, we offer a broad range of fun, age-appropriate activities that support your child’s development in language, maths, creativity, and more. From sensory play for babies to early literacy games for preschoolers, every experience is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help children thrive.
At The Den Early Years, we’re inspired by Realising the Ambition: Being Me, Scotland’s national guidance for early learning. This helps us create warm, engaging spaces where children feel safe, supported, and eager to learn. Our team takes time to build strong relationships with each child, encouraging learning through play, curiosity, and meaningful interactions — all in an environment carefully designed to spark imagination and growth.
At The Den Early Years, care and nurture are at the heart of everything we do. We follow the principles of GIRFEC (Getting It Right for Every Child) — Scotland’s national approach to supporting children’s wellbeing. Every child is recognised as an individual, and we work closely with families and other professionals, when needed, to ensure their needs are fully met. Our approach supports all aspects of wellbeing, helping children feel safe, healthy, confident, and included. By combining a warm, supportive atmosphere with a rich, play-based curriculum, we help children grow not only academically but also socially and emotionally — at their own pace.
